This beautiful product hit the top 20 best electric steamers list because it has the highest customer satisfaction. So far, all the feedback the Aicok has received seems to have been five star ratings. Making this number one steamer to buy.

It is BPA free. BPA free means it doesn’t have that industrial chemical found in most plastics containers and can foods metals. For those that don’t know, BPA’s are chemical residues that have been known to contaminate packaged foods or heated foods. These chemicals have been known to cause a series of health problems. Products that claim “BPA FREE” are the best steps to avoiding industrial chemicals.

The Aicok is easy to store due to it’s stacking abilities. After all the compartments are washed in sink or is dish washer, Aicok can easily be stacked and stored in the closet or cabinet. 2. Cuisinart STM-1000 CookFresh Digital Glass Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 5L
  • Claims: “Large enough for family size portions.”
  • Uniqueness: Comes with a LCD control panel, Start, Stop, Pause, and Reheat buttons.
  • Pros: Compact to fit any kitchen.
  • Cons: Glass top and bowl could be fragile.
  • Appearance: Stainless Steel
  • Dimensions: 13.7 x 13.2 x 9.4 inches
  • Weight: 15.8 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.5 stars ?????
  • Material: Glass

This Stainless steel product is worth it’s price.  The Digital Glass Steamer by Cuisinart is a best seller and for good reason. Cuisinart is a high quality brand that doesn’t seem to disappoint. It has a very powerful steam system that cooks family portions of food very quickly and evenly.

Even though it’s heavy and made of glass, some customers are pleased with that fact because “it’s easier to clean.” Others like the grasping details claiming that “when you lift the lid the handles are not hot.”

Many reviews state that this electric steamer cooks much faster then other steamers. This is probably due to the steam dispensers filling up it’s atmosphere with in a matter of a few seconds.

The fact that it’s not to large and yet it cooks a lot of food at once is a big plus in my book. The look of this item is also very attractive and will look slick on any kitchen top next to any appliance.

3. BELLA Healthy Electric Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 7.4 Quarts
  • Claims: “BPA free.”
  • Uniqueness: Quick start heating system.
  • Pros: Not to big but not to small.
  • Cons: Some say it leaks water from the bottom due to condensation.
  • Appearance: Black and Transparent.
  • Dimensions: 11.6 x 8.9 x 11.7 inches
  • Weight: 2.1 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.3 stars ?????
  • Material: Plastic

The Bella Steamer is made with a Quick start heating system which is cool but other streamers are not that slow either. The Bella steamer wins in the quickness feature by a few seconds.

It comes with two baskets, and though that’s not as extravagant as the three baskets the Aicok Food Steamer has, it’s still pretty handy when steaming multiple items at once. Separating vegetables and fish so you don’t cross contaminate flavors can come in handy. You can prepare different dishes simultaneously and save time.

Like most food steamers, the Bella Steamer comes with an auto-shutoff system integrated into its core processor. And also like most steamers, it also has a boil dry protection precaution.

The Bella 7.4 Quart Healthy Food Steamer is in the top 10 because it is light weight, easy to clean, not to big, and not to small, has two tiers and comes at a decent price. The appearance doesn’t look that bad sitting next to the blender even though it has the slick black bottom with a clear top, but the important thing is, it functions properly and with a generous 4.3 star rating.

This, like other appliances comes with a cheap warranty of $1.61.

4. Topoko 100% Stainless Steel Steamer

  • Claims: “Rust Free.”

  • Cons: Does not fit in very small pots.
  • Appearance: Stainless Steal.
  • Dimensions: 6.5 x 6.5 x 4 inches
  • Weight: 8 ounces
  • Customer Rating: 4.5 stars ?????
  • Material: Stainless steal

I through a couple of regular steamers on this list too, so I hope you don’t mind.

This Stainless steel steamer can be used as steamer or a strainer. Even though it’s not electronic with a built in computer and a bunch of neat functions like all the other steamers in this review. It comes at the most cheapest price and is the most convenient to use.

Because it’s collapsible it can be easily packed away for storage or travel purposes. The weightless design allows you to pack it in travel gear and carry it around easily. Now it’s possible to eat healthy on business trips and on vacations alike.

Unlike the other food steamers, the Topoko Steamer is just one peice, making it east for cleaning. It’s dishwasher safe but can be hand washed in a few seconds.

There are some cases in which the petals come loose from the main mechanism but with some effort they can be reattached. Same goes with the handle.

This item is worth it’s price for under 10 bucks. It is ideal for those that don’t want big steamers sitting on their counters next to their toaster. And those not wanting to pay more than ten dollars for a food steamer.

5. Homdox Healthy Electric Steamer

SOLD OUT DUE TO HOLIDAYS

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 9.5 Quarts
  • Claims: “Turbo Stream Ring.”
  • Uniqueness: Has a viewing window to check water level and drip tray.
  • Pros: Has 3 tiers but not as excessively tall like the Aicok.
  • Cons: Quick start delayed by minutes not seconds.
  • Appearance: Clear top with stainless steal bottom.
  • Dimensions: 11.4 x 7.5 x 14.2 inches
  • Weight: 4.9 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 5 stars ?????
  • Material: Stainless steal and plastic

There are several cool things about the Homdox Electric Steamer. For one, it has a drip tray that doesn’t allow leakage. Other electrical steamers have been known to leak due to condensation build up. The Bella Steamer is a rumored example of the leaking problem. The drip tray is a handy feature for those that like dry counter tops.

The drip tray also has a unique external water-filling inlet. This allows water to be replaced without constantly removing compartments. A water drawer is accessible on the side for easy refilling.

Another neat feature of the Homdox Electric Steamer is the viewing window. The viewing window is a nice convient detail added to the main compartment because it allows you to check water levels before, during and after cooking. This means you can go through a whole cooking session without ever having to worry if it has enough water.

The only negative about the Homdox Steamer is that it’s marketers brag that it’s quick start option will allow you to cook within “minutes.” This is funny because other Electric Steamer begin within seconds.

Standing about 14.2 inches tall, it is not as tall as the Aicok Steamer which is 16.9, but they both have an exact 9.5 quart capacity. Both electric steamers have 3 tiers but the Homdox gets a bonus because it’s not a sky scraper like the Aicok. The Homdox Steamer is wider, but it’s more than 2 inches shorter, making it more capable of resting on the kitchen counter top next to the other appliances. This fact gives the Homdox just enough room to fit underneath the top kitchen cabinets.

If you want the Homdox Electric Steamer, here’s the link. I beleave this item just sold out. The link will take you to Amazon still but to another Homdox Appliance. =/

hmmm, Seems to be out of stock at the moment, I’ll keep checking on it.

6. Circulon Stainless Steel Universal Steamer with Lid

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 4 Quarts
  • Claims: “Oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.”
  • Uniqueness: Has shatter-resistant glass.
  • Pros: Universal functions.
  • Cons: Item is very small, handles are rumored to get excessively hot, does not come with pot.
  • Appearance: Stainless Steal accessory piece without pot.
  • Dimensions: 11 x 8.2 x 6.7 inches
  • Weight: 2.1 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.4 stars ?????
  • Material: Stainless steal

Again, I through a couple of regular steamers on this list too, so I hope you don’t mind.

The Circular Universal Steamer comes with a shatter resistant glass lid. The lid fits the steamer tight so food steams quickly. Because the lid is glass and see through, cooking can be monitored without having to open the lid which loses steam, heat, and time.

The Circular Steamer was designed to be put inside another pot which the product does not come with. It is sold with just the lid.

It is decent quality and has a stepped/contoured design to fit different size pots. The fact that is does not come with the bottom half is kind of a let down but for the price they are asking, ones logic would justify the downfall and probably think that they already have enough pots in the cabinet, and would only need the food steamer accessory with lid.

Because it’s a universal steamer, it works awesome with straight-sided vertical pots and slanted tapered pots. It’s compatible with all pots from Circular, so if you own other cookware from Curcular and want to complete a collection,  the Circular Universal Steamer would be a must addition.

The handles are dual-riveted and provide a sturdy grip but some claim that a large amount of heat travels to the handles so it gets very hot, making it a slight safety hazard. It is oven safe and can withstand 500 degrees Fahrenheit, though I do not know the reason you would put a steamer in the oven at that temperature. ?

Again this steamer is for consumers that don’t need the bottom pot because they have plenty of pots at home. The steamer and lid comes as a double accessory only.

7. Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Stainless 3-Piece Steamer Set

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 3 Quarts
  • Claims: “Designed to last a lifetime.”
  • Uniqueness: Comes with Pot and lid.
  • Pros: Cool grip stick handle does not heat up.
  • Cons: Item is very small, even smaller then the Circulon.
  • Appearance: Stainless Steal and Aluminum.
  • Dimensions: 7.9 x 16.8 x 8.9 inches
  • Weight: 4.8 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.3 stars ?????
  • Material: Stainless Steal and Aluminum.

This is the second to the last regular steamer on this list, so I hope you don’t mind.

The Cuisinart company has been in business for about 30 years now. They have a reputation of constructing cookware out of quality material. They claim their cookware can last a lifetime, which is a bold statement because it puts their reputation on the line.

Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Stainless Steamer Set is designed with an aluminum base which provides excellent heat conductivity throughout the pan and a stainless steel handle which doesn’t get hot on the stove.

This set is cool because it comes with the matching pot. A feature that the Circular Steamer was lacking. This fact alone is a big plus. For about thirteen bucks more you get the pot too. This set also comes with the lid.

The only negatives are is that the capacity is real small; one quart smaller then the Circular Steamer. And contrary to the Circular Steamer, the description says nothing about the glass lid being shatterproof.

Still, it’s is a good deal for the price. Because of it’s quality material and it can get the job done. The pot could also be used for other purposes too besides just steaming.

8. Klarstein Food Spa Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 1.9 Quarts
  • Claims: “Easy to assemble.”
  • Uniqueness: Comes with 7 preset programs.
  • Pros: Has a five star rating.
  • Cons: Machine is big but compartments are small.
  • Appearance: Silver.
  • Dimensions: 15 x 13.5 x 14.2 inches
  • Weight: 5.8 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.4 stars ?????
  • Material: Plastic.

The Klarstein Food Spa Electric Steamer has three separate steaming chambers. It has three compartments like most three tier steamers, except this steamer doesn’t stack. Instead the compartments are side by side, trading height for length and width. It has two small cooking compartments in the front, and one large cooking compartment in the back.

Like the Homedox Steamer, it has a viewing window to check water levels and a external water-filling inlet. This inlet folds out of the tank shaft from the side to allow refiling convenience without having to remove compartments.

Unlike the other food steamers, the Klarstein Food Spa Steamer has 7 preprogramed steaming programs. So if you have a particular dish you with to make and don’t know the time table. The Klarstein probably has a pre-programed button for easy cooking. Just like on microwaves. Only difference is, microwaves destroys nutritional value and steamers preserve it.

Another cool factor is that you can control the steam levels for each individual chamber via digital panel, allowing maximum control over all three separate dishes.

The price may be steep but is sure makes up for it in value.

9. T-fal Balanced Living Compact Electric Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 4 Quarts
  • Claims: “Compact for easy storage.”
  • Uniqueness: Can be used with only one tier.
  • Pros: Run-off water stays separate.
  • Cons: Can’t steam liquids like soup, very expensive.
  • Appearance: Black lid, transparent display, black vent, grey panel, green base.
  • Dimensions: 13.4 x 13.8 x 10.7 inches
  • Weight: 6.7 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 5 stars ?????
  • Material: Plastic

The T-fal Electric Steamer is a bit on the pricey side but that’s because it doesn’t mix used steam water with unused water.  It’s is designed for run-off water to stay separate. This factor makes the T-fal easier to clean.

Reviewers say that this steamer is the perfect size. Not to big not to small. Not to wide and not to tall. It is the epitome of a medium size food steamer. It is said to be sturdy and very high quality.

I am not completely certain but some customers say it’s BPA free but I can’t find any information to verify this claim. Besides that, it has all the functions of all electronic steamers. Which include a automatic shutoff and timer.

If you want a quality steamer and are willing to pay the extra cash. The T-fal is the way to go.

10. Oster Electronic Food Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 6.1 Quarts
  • Claims: “Delay cooking option up to 12-hours.”
  • Uniqueness: LCD display with 95-minute timer.
  • Pros: It has a auto keep-warm setting.
  • Cons: Drip tray can get extremely hot.
  • Appearance: White base with a blue transparenttint casing.
  • Dimensions: 10.8 x 10 x 14.4 inches
  • Weight: 5.7 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.5 stars ?????
  • Material: Thick plastic

The Oster Electric Steamer has a see-through reservoir so you can spy on the water levels. It comes with 2 steaming bowls. A 3.8-quart and 2.3-quart bowl. It also comes with a holder to fit 8 eggs.

This handy model made by Oster has many different functions. One interesting characteristic is that you can steam two different foods simultaneously in two different compartments; and these compartments don’t interconnect which means you don’t have to worry about crisscrossing flavors.

Another cool feature is it has a delay cooking option which allows it to stall on steaming for up to 12 hours. This means you can prep rice or veggies early in the day and the Oster Steamer will steam it for you hours later. It can make dinner for you when you are on your way home. You can literally leave for work or go on a date and come home just in time for your food to be ready. Hows that to impress your date?

And if that’s not cool enough, there is an Auto Keep Warm Setting just in case you are running late. Your food will be warm for up to an hour after cooking has finished.

This is a cool steamer that will definitely impress company.

11. Oster Electric Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 5 Quarts
  • Claims: “Auto shut-off when cycle is completed or water is empty.”
  • Uniqueness: Auto shut-off when water is empty.
  • Pros: Decent size and simple to use.
  • Cons: Works, but cheap for quality product. Sometimes water overflows into bottom basket.
  • Appearance: White base with a transparent top casing.
  • Dimensions: 8.4 x 8.4 x 8.8 inches
  • Weight: 8 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4 stars ????
  • Material: Cheap plastic.

Compared to it’s steaming hot sister. The Oster Food Steamer only has four stars. This is a simple, two tier food steamer with basic functions to get the job done.

It’s only knob is a 60 minute timer.

Like most electric steamers it will turn itself off when done. But unlike some steamers it has a auto shutoff when water is empty. This is the Ace up the sleeve for this unit because some electric steamers don’t have an auto shutoff mechanism when water reservoir hit empty.

At a 2 tier, five quart capacity, and not even 9 inches tall. This is a nice medium size unit for it’s price of 22 bucks.

12. Hamilton Beach Digital Electric Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 5.5 Quarts
  • Claims: “Automatic warmer that switches to warm when food is ready.”
  • Uniqueness: Has a low water light.
  • Pros: Can remove the center divider to fit a variety of large foods.
  • Cons: Some reviews state that it leaks, hard to clean, to bulky.
  • Appearance: Silver and black base with a slighty tinted transparent top.
  • Dimensions:7.3 x 13.7 x 12.6 inches
  • Weight: 4 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4 stars ????
  • Material: Plastic

What makes the Hamilton stand out from it’s competition is the center divider between the two tiers. It can be removed! This is cool. I have yet to see this unique function in any other food steamer.

With the Hamilton Beach Digital Electric Steamer, you can place bulks of broccoli or a huge whole fish that wouldn’t have fit in just one compartment.

Besides that, it has a digital display, it is 5.5 quarts (which a modest size,) a low water warning light (which is unique as well,) and a food warmer that keeps the food warm when done. This model has many feats that other steamers lack.

It has similar features to the Homdox Steamer too. Some similarities include a pull out water drawer/ external water-filling inlet. This will allow you to refill  the steamer without moving big parts. And a water level viewing window. The main difference between the two is that the Homdox has a average of 5 stars and the Hamilton only has an average of four stars overall.

And unfortunately, just like the Bella Healthy Electric Steamer, it is rumored to have a leaking problem.

But besides the occasional leaking problem from only some reviewers, many people that rate it five stars are very happy with their purchase.

13. Ovente Electric Electric  Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 7.5 Quarts
  • Claims: “Light Weight”
  • Uniqueness: 15 minutes interval timer
  • Pros: Cheap price for a 3 tier steamer.
  • Cons: Flimsy.
  • Appearance: White with transparent containers.
  • Dimensions: 8 x 7 x 10 inches
  • Weight: 2.7 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4 stars ????
  • Material: Flimsy Plastic

This steamer reminds me of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The difference between the two is the Leaning Tower of Pisa doesn’t steam food.

Like most steamers, you don’t have to use all the different levels at once. You can downsize, only using one or two tiers at a time if need be.

The Ovente claims it is light weight, and for it’s size, running at 2.7 pounds, it’s pretty light weight indeed. However, I don’t see how the weight matters if it’s just going to stay on the kitchen counter top.

The Ovente has average functions like most food steamers and dishwasher safe material. It has auto shutoff technology when food is done. And like the Oster steamer, it has auto shutoff when water reservoir is empty.

With an average rating of 3.8, you can tell that customer satisfaction is not that great. Even though many buyers are happy with the Ovente Steamer, some buyers are not. Complaints mentioned are usually about flimsy plastic and the fact that (for some users), the water boils upward into the first tier.

For the price of $19:99, it is probably one of the cheapest electric steamers on the market.

14. Elite Platinum Electric Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 8.5 Quarts
  • Claims: “BPA FREE
  • Uniqueness: Nested storage design.
  • Pros: Each tray comes with 6 egg-rests.
  • Cons: Some reviews state that it leaks.
  • Appearance: Stainless steal bottom with transparent plastic top.
  • Dimensions: 10.7 x 9.8 x 10.7 inches
  • Weight: 5.5 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 3.6 stars ????
  • Material: Stainless steal bottom with clear plastic top.

The Elite Platinum Steamer has several cool perks. First and foremost it is BPA free.

The Elite is also equipped with an egg rest that holds 6 eggs. This is a perk that most steamers don’t carry. Although I really don’t see the point of an egg rest. No big deal in my opinion. I would lay the eggs in there, it’s not like they are going for a ride or anything.

It also has the auto shut off and the 60 minute timer. But what the makers of this product seem very proud of is the “nested storage design” which helps store the steamer inside the cabinets. It does have a nice shape to it, however some reviewers say it’s hard to store away. Can’t please everyone.

All in all it works, and because of that, the Elite Platinum Food Steamer (which has no platinum) still gets five star ratings from customers. But if you were to average all the reviews it gets in total…it would only be 3.6 stars.

15. Magic Chef Electric Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: Unknown Quarts
  • Claims: “Easy Touch Program Setting”
  • Uniqueness:  LCD Display.
  • Pros: Has all the basic functions.
  • Cons: Can’t set a custom times only preset times.
  • Appearance: Stainless steal bottom with transparent and black top.
  • Dimensions: 9.4 x 15.4 x 16.1 inches
  • Weight: 5.3 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 3.9 stars ????
  • Material: Stainless steal bottom with hard plastic top.

The Magic Chef Electric Steamer seems like it has four tiers but it only has three. That big black part on the top is just a fancy looking lid. The whole Steamer reminds me of the “Tower of Peace” in the cartoon South Park. Between “City Wok” and “City  Sushi.”

Anyways, standing at 16. 1 inches, it is the third tallest food steamer on this list. Coming right behind the Aicok.

It has all the basic functions, timer, auto-shut off, and dishwasher safe.

The only complaints so far is that it doesn’t keep the food hot for long after the cooking has finished. And the hard plastic seems brittle and could break easily. Other then then that, the Magic Chef Food Steamer works fine.

Here is the link if you are interested in the Magic Chef Electric Steamer.

16. Cuisinart 3-In-1 Cook Central Multi-Cooker Steamer (Refurbished)

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 6 Quarts
  • Claims: “Cool-touch handle and BPA free”
  • Uniqueness:  24 hour warmer
  • Pros: Has 3 cooking functions.
  • Cons: Refurbished from post rust issues.
  • Appearance: Grey with black lining.
  • Dimensions: 12 x 19 x 9.5 inches
  • Weight: 15.8 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.5 stars ?????
  • Material: Non-stick aluminum.

The Cuisinart Electric Steamer has three different cooking methods. Not only can it steam food but it can also saute and slow cook too. Not many electric steamers can pull off all three of these cooking functions.

This steamer has a 24 hour warmer. Meaning you can party for 24 hours and this steamer can keep the party going by keeping the food warm for all your crazy guests.

Item is BPA free.

One negative of the Cuisinart Multi Cooker Steamer is that the pot has been known to rust for a few customers but has been refurbished just recently so that the rust problem does not occur. Carcinogens wont be healthy at all and may just defeat the whole purpose of trying to eat healthy in the first place.

Cuisinart claims that it’s steamer is now a “certified refurbished product. It has been tested by the manufacturer or by a third-party with no signs of wear.” They have completely refurbished the steamer. The process underwent a lot of testing, inspecting and reconditioning. So it may be safe to say that the rust problem is no more.

Many people are satisfied with this new Electric Steamer, and so far no one has claimed they have encountered rust since the refurbishing.  But for those that are still worried. It comes with a cheap protection plan for $2.31.

17. Cuisinart Chef’s Classic 4-Piece Steamer Set

  • Shipping: No
  • Capacity: 12 Quarts
  • Claims: “professional performance “
  • Uniqueness:  Has a drip-free rim for pouring
  • Pros: Comes with a 12 quart pot for other uses.
  • Cons: Cases where the lid shatters and rust forms on rivets
  • Appearance: Stainless steal.
  • Dimensions: 11 x 14.5 x 9 inches
  • Weight: 3.3 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.3 stars ?????
  • Material: Stainless Steel

This is the last regular steamer on this list, thank you for not minding.

Cuisinart is back with another steamer but this one is a four peace set. Which includes the pot, a glass lid, a deep strainer insert, and a steamer basket.

The cool feature with this steamer set is it comes with the pot which could be used to cook other meals like beans and soup. The pot has a drip-free rim which prevents liquid to drip while pouring. This is because the rim is tapered.

The base of this 4 piece steamer set has an aluminum disk. It is encapsulated between the layers of stainless steel. It is located on the bottom for conductive heating.

The lid is considered a “flavor lock lid.” Supposedly it is tight fitting and can seal in nutrients and moisture making food more flavorful. The problem however is there have been cases where the lid has been known to shatter due to intensive heat. I am not sure if this problem has been resolved.

Another negative is that some reviewers claim that the rivets that hold the handles have been known to rust after one year. I am not sure if this problem has been resolved either.

Despite the negatives, the Cuisinart Chefs Classic steamer has positives too. Many customers are happy and the ratings hold a high 4.3.

18. Euro Cuisine Electric Steamer

  • Shipping: Seasonally
  • Capacity: 17 Quarts
  • Claims: “Preserves the original flavor”
  • Uniqueness:  90-minute timer
  • Pros: When food is ready, it switches to warmer mode.
  • Cons: Too big.
  • Appearance: White base with stainless steal top.
  • Dimensions:13 x 14.5 x 18 inches
  • Weight: 8 pounds
  • Customer Rating: 4.0 stars ????
  • Material: Stainless Steel

This fancy electric steamer is the tallest steamer on this list. It has only two tiers but can pack a lot of food; 17 quarts of food as a matter of fact. Which also makes this steamer able to hold the most amount of food. More food than any other steamer on this list.

It has a 90 minute timer which is unique because most steamers only go up to 60 minutes.

Another perk is it has a automatic food warmer which activates once the food has finished cooking.

The Euro Cuisine Steamer claims that it preserves the original flavor of the food it cooks. Although it is very rare for cooking appliances to distort flavor, it is good to know that the Euro Cuisine preserves taste and not alters it.

There are only a couple of drawbacks. For one,  some customers complain the food can’t be seen through the stainless steel covering. Well from my experiences  clear plastic food steamers, once the steam starts filling in, you can’t see the food anyways due to the steam.

Another drawback is that Euro Cuisine Steamer is bulky and too big. Now this I can understand. You can feed 2 armies with this thing. And if you have a small kitchen, good luck storing it or even displaying it. Because I’m a big eater with a big hungry family. The fact that it’s big is a big plus in my book.

  • Material: Plastic

The Rosewill Electric Steamer has a bunch of qualities and hardly any drawbacks. It has 3 tiers and a 9.5 capacity which is a generous giving knowing the price is only $36.99.

It’s also BPA free which is another coveted feature. I have explained this before but I’ll explain it again for those that don’t know. Just skip the next paragraph if you don’t want to read it again.

The Rosewill has a turbo steam ring for generating steam under 40 seconds. Impressive, but really, when it comes down to it, steamers relatively all steam within the same amount of time regardless of how long it takes to start steaming. The food will eventually be cooked, comparing seconds in my opinion is unconcerning. The difference between start times differ from only a few seconds and in some cases a little over a minuet. However if you’re a second cruncher this feature is ideal for you.

All in all, the Rosewill Electric Electric Steamer is a good price for all the perks it carries. Here’s is the link it you want it.

To me, the Wolfgang Puck Electric Steamer looks like a coffee machine. So don’t be surprised if have guest over trying to figure out where the coffee grounds go.

Ultimately, if a food steamer says BPA free, I know that the company that manufactured it went the extra 100 miles to make sure they don’t put harmful chemicals in there products.

For those that don’t know, BPA free means it doesn’t have that industrial chemical found in most plastics containers and can foods metals. This cool contraption is a convenient item to make small personal meals. It can be used for small lunches and is compact enough to be brought to work without taking up to much work space.

All though the Pyle Food Steamer is primarily an egg steamer, it can be used to steam other foods too. The egg tray can be removed and the height of the tier can be extended.

Although there are complaints the timer beeper is barely audible. Others enjoy the low volume because they like to keep the Pyle Food Steamer at work on their desk. And the fact the low sounding beep doesn’t bother or annoy fellow employees is a big plus.

Remember, if you are trying to cure your psoriasis, Doctor John Pagano says that you can only eat 4 eggs a week. (Never Fried)

  1. I love steam cooked vegetables! They taste great, the texture isn’t all soggy, and they have the brightest colors for some reason, making me just KNOW they are healthy somehow! Thanks for the explanation that steamed food IS great!
I used to have a steaming contraption similar to the Topoko Stainless Steel one… but mine kept collapsing. Not so great when it’s piping hot steam! I’m thinking I’d like to get something that I can plug in – save the stove for the other parts of my meal! And I just LOVE the idea of a delayed timer like #10 offers (The Oster). Dinner is hard to time the food to be done at the same time – a timer sounds great. I may just keep this in mind… thanks for the great reviews!

    • Hey Marlaine, I agree, the Oster delayed cook function is an awesome feature. You can have it making breakfast and dinner everyday of the week it your that much of a steamer enthusiast lol. Set it at night before you go to bed for 8 hours or however long you plan on sleeping…wake up in the morning to a chime…and BAM! Hot eggs for breakfast. Set is up again before you go to work…and BAM!…You got dinner for when you come home. 😉 Cooking spouses… eat your heart out :p

  2. Thanks for sharing this list of the best steam cookers. I’ve been eyeing one for awhile, but haven’t decided which one to purchase. I’d love one of the layered/tiered steamers you mentioned. Unfortunately, I don’t have a huge budget to work with. Therefore, I think I’ll go with the Aicok due to price and value! Thanks for your help!

    • Jasmine…you may have to wait for that item to come back in stock. It just sold out…man it went quick too. They had several units available. This is probably due to the holidays. And also because it’s BPA free, 3 tier, and a top seller. I put a sentence on the bottom of the review saying that it’s sold out. I will remove that sentence once I learn the item is back in stock. 🙂

  3. Amazing! I never seen a steam cooker like the Aicok Food Steamer in my life! The innovation is clever and very efficient. I love fitness and I need to prep my food a lot. This steam cooker can save me a lot of time and energy.

I might get one later, so I’ll for sure comeback to order one in the future. Thank you so much for sharing these products, it will help me a lot with my health!

    • Hey Marques, the Aicok seems to be out of stock because it’s that badass. I’ll keep checking on it and I will remove the “out of stock” statement I put on the bottom of it’s review, once it’s back. And yea, If you’re into fitness then steaming is the way to go, no doubt.

  4. Hello there! My mom’s birthday is coming soon and I’m looking for the best gift for her. I noticed that my mom loves to steam food and she always do the old fashioned way of steaming. I wanted to make her steaming of foods easier and luckily I found your article. This is a great list of best steam cookers. I will surely buy the Aicok Food Steamer since it’s not that expensive. Thank you for sharing this information.

    • Hate to be the bearer of bad news John but the Aicok seems to be “out of stock” at the moment. I will remove the “out of stock” statement I put at the end of the Aicok review once it’s back in stock. I will check on it every day. Hopefully by your moms b-day it will be back. =)

  5. Wow! What a plethora of steamer selection. I have always had the plastic/pan method.

Tis’ the Season and I have someone that has mentioned a steamer. What an education your article provided.

Like a few others reviewed as well the Aicock struck my fancy. Maybe because it was first. It is unique, clever, easy to use and very efficient.

Personally I love to stay fit and am always cooking food so this may come in handy for me as well.

So, need to ponder this just a bit. This review really impressed me and will be back to take a look.

By the way, did you make a choice for yourself?

    • Thanx Robert. I like the ones that say BPA free for sure.

I also “fancy” the Aicok but I definitely want to buy the Euro Cuisine Steamer because I have a large kitchen that will actually fit it. Besides being able to cook a lot of food at once. It has many features, like a 90 minute timer and a food warmer which I totally dig.

The Rosewill Electric Food Steamer is also a favorite because it’s cheap, has a nice capacity, and is BPA free.

  6. Hi there
Many thanks for this interesting post and if I am to be honest, I had not come across some of these steamers before today.
This review piqued my interest, as I live alone and every evening I come home from work and it’s a case of two or three saucepans, plus a frying pan all going at once, in order to cook my dinner.
One of these devices would cater for the whole lot on their own and would result in less electricity usage, less washing up and ultimately less work.
The Aicok Food Steamer has caught my eye in this report , it is within my price range and I see that you have given this apparatus 5 stars.
Thanks again for the great review
    Best wishes
    Cheers PB

    • Hello there Phil, yes it will save you tons of money on your electric bill at the end of the month. Not only is steaming good for your health, but it’s good for saving lots of cash too lol. I don’t think I brought up that point in the whole review.

Everybody wants the Aicok. The Aicok company just put more of them back online. They actually sold out for a while there, but they have more in stock now. They raised the price too, due to supply and demand.

By the way Phil, I didn’t give it a five star rating. The customers on Amazon did when they voted after purchase. I hope you start steam cooking sooner than later.=)

  7. Oh man these look so good, especially the homdox which sparked my interest in not being a very good cook myself haha. But it definitely made me hungry…

I think I might get this for a Christmas present for my parents, I’m sure they will appreciate it.

Great review Drake, appreciate the effort you put in!
I’m sharing it on google +

    • Hey Jeremy, the Homdox is sold out man. I put a text on the bottom of the review and I will remove it once it comes back. Find a second choice. And yes cool, by all means share it.

  8. My first thought is that there is such a wide price variance between these steamers. What, in your opinion, accounts for such great differences in price? I was taken with the Hamilton Beach steamer as well and have looked at it in the past. It’s too bad that some people found it to leak. Thank you for your very detailed descriptions!

    • Hey Dr. Doug, to answer your question about major differences in price, it normally has to do with availability and supply and demand. The overall quality of the steamer is also a major price determiner. I hope that helped.

      -Drake Brooks-

  9. i’ve wanted a new steamer for a while but i had no idea where to start or what the best products on the market were in terms of price and general quality. after reading this article i feel much more informed about this and can make a better decision when it comes to buying a new steamer.

    thanks for posting

    • Yea it’s strange that we put off or even forget that we want a new steamer. I would say it is because there’s so many other cooking methods and places to eat, that steaming food is hardly at the back of our minds. I’m glad to have helped.

  10. ive wanted a steamer for a while but didnt know which one to buy for what i would be using it for. after reading this article i have a much better idea about which products would be best for me and can make a more informed decision when it comes to buying the right product

    thanks for posting

    • I’m glad I’m able to help you make more of an educated decision when it comes to buying a good steamer. =)

  11. The Aicock food steamer looks awesome with the three levels! It’s too bad that it’s sold out for the holidays. I’ll have to treat myself to one after the new year…

Do you know if it is easy to clean? Seems like with multiple levels it will be hard to keep sanitized.

    Thanks,
    -Jason

    • Hey Jason, that’s also my brothers name. I own several steamers and their all designed to be easy to clean. Just break it down and wash it piece by piece. The base can’t be thrown is the sink or dishwasher like the rest of the pieces due to the electrical components but all it ever needs is a simple wipe down anyways. BTW, I checked this morning and the Aicok is back on Amazon!

      -Drake-

  12. These steamers are some really good choices, however, if you had to recommend a steamer that works fast and is easiest to maintain which one would you recommend, I personally like the Bella steamer but since it is currently out of stock which one you think would be better?
    Thanks
    Shrey

    • Shrey, guess what..the Bella is back on Amazon. They all know that money is involved, so you know they really hustle to get their products back online. To answer your question I would go with the Aicok or the Euro Cuisine Steamer. Both of them are OFF the HOOK!

      -Drake-

    • Hello Steve. I don’t mean to bust your bubble. But because this is a cure psoriasis website, I encourage people not to use the microwave.

“Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture in 2003 found that broccoli cooked by microwave… loses about 74 percent to 97 percent of its antioxidants.”

Is just one example of many tests and experiments.

Again it is recommended not to use microwave steamers.
I’m sure you will find a good steamer in my review of the top 20 best steam cookers list.

I hope you see my point.

      -Drake-
      p.s. Merry Christmas

  13. I really liked the Bella Steamer comes and it seems like it is an all-around good steam cooker. and I also needed something not too big since I can move to another country in these days.

  14. Yeah, I’m gonna go with the 3-1 cuisinart, lucky #16. I’ve never gone wrong with cuisinart products and it’s cool that you can do more than just steam in it. I liked the design of the Magic Chef option, but I don’t like that it doesn’t keep food hot. Ayayayay!

    • Oh so you like the cuisinart, good choice. That is a quality steam cooker with many coking functions. And yes it has a food warmer… A 24 hour food warmer for 24 hour party people like you ayayayay lol.

  15. Vegetables aren’t a big love in my family unless they’re hidden in something like lasagna, unfortunately. But we are big on dim sum and tamales and all sorts of steamed finger foods. I’ve always just used the standard over the pot steamers. Now you have me wondering how one of these electric wonders would work out. You could probably make a whole lot of dim sum in one of those!

    • I cook with an electric steam cooker at least four days a week. If I didn’t cook with it that day it’s because I was eating leftovers that were made by the steam cooker the previous day. Oven baked food is my second method. Thanks for the comment. =)

  16. Nice list man. I am thinking about one for quite a long time now. But at the same time, my simple steamer for a pot does the trick too.

So what´s your one argument for getting such a steamer instead of using the old school version?

    Thanks bro, I appreciate it

    • The cool thing about electric steamers is all you have to do is stuff them with food and set the timer. That’s it! Just come back later when the food is done. Go catch a date with your gf. Take her for an adventure and come home to a lobster Dinner just waiting.

You want breakfast ready for when you wake? Bam! Electric Steamer!

I like simple old skoo steamers too don’t get me wrong I aint no hater. =) They’re handy when you’re making big feasts and all the other electric steamers are in use cooking for you. I put some simple steamers on this very list too. Here is a link to Amazon for a simple steamer, use only if I don’t convince you that electric is better.

Don’t forget we live in an age where we should take advantage of convenience. If time is of the essence and everyone is always on the go. Let us use time saving appliances like electric steamers and take a step up in evolution.

I did. I eat healthy, I save time, my girls always impressed, and I cook with style. It’s a win win.

      Thanx for the comment.

      -Drake-

P.s. They save you hella cash on your power bill FYI.

  17. Steamed foods are my favorites in regards to taste and the added benefits they offer for nutrients that are maintained through the cooking process is a bonus. Of course, having the right equipment helps, so I came here in search of a larger electric steamer so I can prepare full meals as opposed to one or two items.

Each of the suggestions that you have reviewed seems like are viable options that would work, so I had to look through the post several times to come up with the one I will purchase. The Aicok Electric Steamer is the one I will go with as it has separate compartments where I can add in all the portions for a meal.

I like that it also is BPA-free and has a lot of excellent reviews from buyers. That tells me it will fit perfectly (I am not concerned about space) in the kitchen and perform well for my needs. Steamed food is the best, and having a good electric steamer to prepare the food is a must. This one will do the job well I think! Thanks…

    • When I first heard of steaming foods, I thought, “well this is gonna taste very boring.” But I was wrong. Steaming foods can be very tasty. Just like most cooking methods, one has to prepare the food for taste and season it accordingly. Steam cooking is easy, fun, and more importantly, extremely beneficial because it preserves the most nutrients out of all the other cooking methods.

Buying a large steamer is excellent for healthy family dinners as well as meal prepping. Which is very common nowadays with busy schedules and all.

The Aicok Electric Steamer is a good choice. It is large, versatile, and has many different compartments. It is also BPA free which is huge plus in my book. Most people don’t know but It stands for bisphenol, a chemical that is found in polycarbonate plastics. Avoid it when you can!

      Thanx for the comment.

      -Drake-

  18. It is a great article. Like I mentioned we use it, especially for our vegetables to keep the nutrients cooked in them. We bought the Hamilton Beach steamer and it works miracles for us. Easy clean and easy to set up for cooking. I appreciate the information that was given on each of the top steamers around. I know where to go now in case I need a new one. What made you decide to get an electric steamer yourself?

    • Hello. To answer your question I got into steam cooking long ago when I had to change my eating habits and overall unhealthy lifestyle. When I had psoriasis in the past I decided my skin and health was way more important then always eating fried food and other types of junk food with no nutritional value what so ever. As you say, steaming helps “keep the nutrients.” Deficiency in nutrients is the cause of many ailments including the inflammatory auto immune skin disorder which is psoriasis.

The Hamilton is a decent electric steamer that is great for steaming foods.  It’s versatile because you can remove the center divider to fit a larger foods in one big compartment.  It also has a automatic warmer which keeps the food warm. So you indeed bought a good one. Thank you for commenting on my “Best Electric Steamers Review.”

      -Drake-

  19. Thanks for the extensive review on electric streamers. It is a timely article for me. Our family loves steamed food and almost everything we eat is streamed, streamed fish, steamed meat, and steamed vegetables etc. We don’t have electric steamer and we used gas-heated water streamer. Several times we forget to set timer and the water was dry and food was wasted.

We talk about purchasing an electric steamer for a while. Now comes the wonderful review you present. I like Aicok Electic Steamer whose features meet all we need. Also the price is $39.99 and it is a good deal.

It is kind of you spending your precious time summarizing the information.

    • You are welcome. I enjoyed writing this “extensive” electric steamer review. My family eats a lot of steamed foods too. Owning one of these electric steamers is perfect for not wasting food as you say.

The Aicok Electic Steamer is a perfect choice, you should indeed get one. It is very inexpensive. Thanx for the comment.
